The Technical Advisor manages mechanical activities on site during the Installation & Commissioning and Maintenance of lm6000, lms100 and lm2500 gas turbines. ( Proven installation and commissioning of these turbines is a must requirement). Responsible for
reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead Mechanical TA Reports to the project manager on matters involving the mechanical work during installation, commission and operation of General Electric Gas turbines (LM2500, lm6000 and lms100)
Responsible for start-up testing and performance testing which includes reviewing plant engineering documents and P&IDs, performing testing and troubleshooting on plant systems and equipment.
Attend daily start-up meetings to coordinate activities in a safe manner while interfacing with other personnel involved in the project such as Electrical, controls, construction, operations, owner, engineering, and vendors
Direct other TAs and local craftsmen under his supervision in support of start-up testing activities.
Supervise customer operators during the operation of systems prior to, and after they are put into service.
Develop startup procedures, startup schedules, and site-specific startup documentation.
Ensure the correct installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and maintenance practices are followed
Work with owner’s representatives to maintain the startup schedule
Maintain startup packages, controlled drawings, and applicable project records
Address activities during performance testing emissions testing, and reliability testing
Oversees the third party testing of applicable equipment
Ensures lockout and tag-out procedures and all other safety-related activities are maintained
Provide scheduling and status reports to project manager
Ensure contractual obligations are met
Ensure all in-field activities are carried out safely complying with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures
Procurement and maintaining of spare parts and consumables required for testing of systems
Provide expert consultation on complex projects
Provide customers with technical direction and support on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged products
Overall responsibility of the management of site activities including planning, organizing, integrating and directing of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirementsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor Degree in Engineering and 4 years of experience, or 8 years of experience without formal degree, in installation and commissioning aero derivative turbines ( lm2500, lm6000 and lms100) which include power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance,or power plant equipment installation/ commissioning. Successful completion of required training programs is a minimum requirement. Demonstrated progressive, responsible experience with various types of turbine generator equipment and site accountabilitiesis required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Prior lead TA experience (4 years minimum) installing and commissioning GE aero gas turbines
Hands on experience working on GE LM package equipment
Knowledge and prior experience of GE applications
Installations and alignments of turbines and generators
Experience on complete overhauls of GE aeroderivative turbines
Experience in rigging turbines, generators and associated equipment
Boroscope Inspection on aeroderivative units
Attended formal GE CTEC training on either lm2500 and or lm6000
Job requires 100 percent travel domestically and internationally for extended periods of time.
Fluent in English

Must be able and willing to work long hours
Must be able and willing to work weekly schedules that are not uniform on a day-to-day basis
Must be able and willing to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb ladders and steps
