A. BASIC PURPOSE The function of the Processing Associate III is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This Job Description is a broad outline of responsibilities.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to receive donated goods and process them in the most time and space effective manner.
Ability to sort, clean and price donated goods.
Ability to determine merchandise quality. Send to collectibles for further processing if warranted.
Handle all merchandise per policy of the processing deparment and The Salvation Army. Discard any items with inappropriate or suggestive messages, cult slogans, alcohol promotions, drug abuse or humanism.
Ability to operate pricing machines.
Keep work area clean and orderly.
Be able to follow orders from supervisor without direct supervision.
Keep records of processed goods and turn in to supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to follow direct orders.
Must be able to operate simple mechanized equipment.
Previous experience a plus.
Must be able to work effectively with co-workers.
Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks.
D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand for eight (8) hours per day.
Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects, reach overhead
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., non-continuously
