Maverik MAV Driver in ELKO, Nevada
Maverik drivers provide petroleum products to Maverik stores.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
They are responsible for the loading, safe delivery, and unloading of petroleum products. The driver must keep the truck properly maintained and must follow all state, federal and company safe driving regulations. They will work closely with Transportation Supervisors and other management personnel to safely deliver their loads daily to Maverik stores and external customers.
The incumbent should have good customer service skills, possess strong written and oral communication skills, have a strong work ethic and a high level of integrity.
Qualifications: Experience, Competencies, and Education
Driver must be able to speak and read English in accordance with 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2).
Applicant must have a valid Class A CDL from state of residence with all proper endorsements, which include tanker, hazmat, doubles/triples, and TWIC card in necessary areas.
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be 21 years of age or older and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the operation of tractor/trailer equipment.
There may be no use of illegal drugs, positive or refused tests in the last 7 years. No use of illegal drugs positive or refused in a commercial vehicle ever. No DUI/DWI’s within the last 7 years. No multiple DUI/DWIs and no DUI/DWIs in a commercial vehicle.
No convictions for “serious or disqualifying traffic violations per FMCSR 383.51” within the last 3 years, (see FMCSR Parts 382, 391, 392 and 397). These include the following:
excessive speeding (more than 15 over the posted speed)
improper or erratic lane change
following too close
driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs
hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident
no citations for driving while suspended, disqualified, or expired in the last 12 months for either CDL or Medical Certificates.
No more than 4 moving violations in the last 36 months and no more than 2 moving violations in the previous 12 months.* *
There must be no more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years. No major preventable accidents in the last 7 years (greater than 25K).
No involvement in any theft of cargo or equipment, ever.
No felonies in the past 7 years. Any felony must be reviewed by the Director of Transportation.
Possess the ability to comply with company dress and grooming standards set forth in the Maverik Driver’s manual.
