Summary
The DevOps Engineer will collaborate with other application development teams during build, test, and release activity. This position will build and maintain secure, resilient, highly-available, scalable and performant IT infrastructure in cloud environments. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for helping build data pipelines to rapidly ingest a wide variety of concurrent data sources. This role will create scripts for processing, transforming, understanding, and aggregating data. The DevOps Engineer provides administration for cloud deployments and assures those environments are appropriately configured and maintained.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work with other company divisions to develop, document, and implement solutions in a consistent, repeatable manner
Design, develop, code, test, enhance and debug ETL processes and data flows in the cloud
Work closely with developers in application troubleshooting, design, and continuous integration from an operational perspective
Proactively maintain a broad knowledge of cloud engineering trends and technology advancements
Participate in design, development, and deployment of our Data Lake platform for analytics
Education & Experience
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university in a related field is preferred, or equivalent combinaton of education and experience
Development skills with JavaScript-related languages React and/or NodeJS
Experience building API applications that use REST-based web services and JSON data structures
Solid knowledge of the AWS ecosystem: IAM, S3, Lambda, Cognito, API Gateway, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SES, CloudFront, Secrets Manager, CDK
Development experience in both relational RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL database architecture (Cassandra, DynamoDB)
Experience with infrastructure automation and continuous delivery tool chains (Terraform, CloudFormation, Circle CI, Jenkins, Consul, Vault, Git)
Experience with (Git-based) source code versioning tools and VCS (GitHub, BitBucket, GitLab)
Understanding of agile software development methodologies and familiarity with team collaboration tools (GitHub, JIRA, Slack)
Experience with creating, running, and deploying Linux containers, virtual machines, and related technologies with Docker is preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is preferred
