The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to:

  • Seek and obtain quality new business through outside selling efforts.

  • Develop specific and targeted new client growth plans, expand existing business relationships by determining opportunities and cross sell services, and meet established goals of the market area while ensuring the bank's credit quality and risk management guidelines are followed.

  • Focus on business development within a specific local market area.

  • Participate in extensive partnering with all lines of business within the bank to insure the local markets' service and sales goals are exceeded and promote the bank's service and sales culture by the modeling of relationship management/deepening skills.

  • Provide full-service banking to small businesses and clients while utilizing knowledge in the bank's product/services.

  • Maintain high visibility within the local market served.

  • Provide leadership, direction, training, and motivation in sales and client service to the branch team as directed by Retail Management.

  • Effectively sell the Bank's products and services; manage all aspects of the market area, while providing a high level of quality service to all clients as well as drive profitable volume growth from existing and new customers on an ongoing basis.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires Federal Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), in accordance with the SAFE Act.

Qualifications

The Business Banker (Corporate / Commercial Lending) position requires:

  • 2 years of current sales experience within a financial institution, with proven record showing the ability to meet or exceed all sales goals.

  • Knowledge of business and consumer lending.

  • Sales experience with: Lending, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Vault Services, Leasing Programs, Business Credit Cards and Account Analysis.

  • Active business development, outside sales calls, cold calls and strong internal sales leadership skills.

  • Understanding of current markets and trends regarding rate pertaining to lending products.

  • Working knowledge of consumer and business products with the ability to know when to cross sell said products.

  • Working knowledge of lending processes, loan principles and applications.

  • Must have excellent customer service and negotiation skills.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and general PC's skills.

  • High School diploma or GED
