UnitedHealth Group Data Analyst (STAR Analytics) - Telecommute within PST time zone in Las Vegas, Nevada

Provide Analytic support to enable CDQI to formulate effective strategies for Provider Education initiatives, RAF/Coding Accuracy initiatives and HEDIS compliance programs. Develop an understanding of data structures and process flow mappings critical to ensure HEDIS and RISK data integrity and governance. This resource would also be expected to contribute in the necessary review and update of all existing report SQL code to ensure business logic adapts to changing business processes. As part of CDQI, the analyst would also be responsible to manage and maintain positive working relationships with outside department stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as healthcare data analyst for local and national market projects

  • Solves complex problems and develops innovative sustainable solutions

  • Works with customers to define and document additional requirements to enrich reporting capabilities and assists in coordination of user acceptance testing

  • Develops systematic reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad hoc reporting to management

  • Troubleshoots data integrity issues, analyzes data for completeness to meet business needs, and proposes documented solution recommendations

  • Converts complex data from multiple sources into meaningful, professional and easy to understand formats for various audiences as defined by department guidelines

  • Supports reporting and analysis on all business initiative projects

  • Recommends and implements new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information

  • Troubleshoots and coordinates resolutions for all issues related to reports supported by the department

  • Provides consistent and timely communication on projects, results and conclusions from analyses

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology or related field. Will also consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree

  • Proficiency in SQL and developing efficient, well performing queries

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft office suite of application

  • Advanced Excel experience ( creating pivot tables, writing functions and formulas )

  • Must be able to work PST time zone and support our business needs in the Mountain West Region (NV, CO, NM, AZ, UT)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 + years of reporting/analytic experience

  • Healthcare background in Clinical Operations, Quality/HEDIS, Medicare Risk Adjustment (MRA)

  • Experience in a managed care environment

  • Proficiency with BI tools such as MicroStrategy/Tableau as well as Microsoft Office

  • Ability to handle multiple, complex and competing priorities and projects

  • Proactive approach to learning new skill set and accelerated learning curve

  • Team player with strong attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills with a variety of levels of constituents

  • Comfortable with the uncertainty of a dynamically changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to drive project plan results and holding participants accountable

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
