Holcim (US) Inc. Fleet/Dispatch Manager - Aggregates in Las Vegas, Nevada



Responsible for managing, directing and controlling maintenance operations for an assigned region. Accountable for all maintenance activities including preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment repairs and installations to ensure maximum uptime and productivity.

Responsible for managing the implementation of the defined global and U.S. safety initiatives within the five pillars of carrier and customer safety to make them part of the region’s policies and practices.

This position will also manages the 3rd party carriers’ capacity to ensure that capacity requirements are met and deliveries are made as scheduled and exception free.

  • Provides guidance, planning, administration and direction to maintenance employees and outside trade vendors.

  • Ensures that maintenance employees are appropriately trained, equipped and motivated so that maintenance programs can be accomplished in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.

  • Actively supports region occupational health & safety and environmental programs.

  • Ensures plant equipment reliability and equipment availability per company standards.

  • Reviews operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate problems and to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Looks for ways to improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

  • Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance operating procedures and programs.

  • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM, compliance, schedule compliance, etc.

  • Assists with capital projects as needed.

  • Develops staffing plans for direct reports and establishes work plans/schedules for projects.

  • Prioritizes staff workloads in order to meet objectives and appropriately serve the business.

  • Provides work direction and mentoring to direct reports.

  • Actively engage with customers, haulers and weigh masters to reinforce safe behaviors.

  • Actively participate and assist with annual Transportation Safety Initiatives for haulers.

  • Coordinate directly with customers and contracted haulers; Choose best haul solution for each order.

  • Maintain productive and professional relationships with haulers.

  • Attract new haulers to ensure division has access to the adequate number of trucks.

  • Identify optimization and backhaul opportunities



Required Education: Bachelor's/University Degree

Additional Education Preferred: MBA

Preferred field of study: Maintenance/Mechanical/Engineering

Other Training/Certifications Required: Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office applications.

Required Work Experience: 7-10 years

  • Minimum of 5 years of Maintenance, Industrial work, Construction, Dispatch, or like experience.

  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and demonstrated ability for troubleshooting and repair.

  • Knowledge of predictive/preventative maintenance, welding, equipment balancing, laser alignment, vibration analysis and electrical.

  • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.

  • Effective communication and analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects/priorities.

Travel Requirements : Ability to travel to company locations.

Computer and Software Skills : Intermediate compute skills using Microsoft Office applications.
