Copper Mountain Resort Lift Operations Supervisor in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Lift Operations Supervisor has the overall responsibility for the effective operation of Lee Canyon's ski lifts. The position is responsible for the coordination, organization, staffing, labor management, supervision and efficient operation of 3 lifts and up to 30 lift operators and ticket checkers. This position reports to the Director of Mountain Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor the day-to-day performance of lift operators and ticket checkers to maintain the highest level of guest Experience/Safety and employee satisfaction.

Prepare schedules on a weekly basis to accommodate special events, holidays and scheduled lift opening and closings.

Establish and maintain effective communication with other departments, such as Ski Patrol, Lift Maintenance, Slope Maintenance, Ski & Snowboard School and Terrain Parks.

Review and sign off on all employee hours-worked, in time keeping program, for payroll accuracy and to monitor overtime.

Review daily lift logs and communicate to lift maintenance any noted deficiencies in compliance with the requirements of regulatory agencies.

Supervise, coordinate, and schedule with slope maintenance to ensure that ramps and mazes are kept to exact standards to provide efficient access and egress at all lifts.

Maintain all motor rooms, lift shacks, signs, and maze structures to ensure a professional appearance.

Assist Lift Maintenance department with basic maintenance items, ensure all maintenance issues are reported to Lift Maintenance.

Investigate accidents and incidents when lifts are involved, to ensure all facts and evidence are preserved in the event of possible litigation. Assist in the completion of all employee witness statements and documentation.

Handle any guest complaint or problem in a professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction and a return visit.

Follow an established hiring procedure including evaluation of applicants, interviews, and final selection of staff.

Prepare all employee paperwork such as activations, transfers, additional job classes, wage increases and promotions, terminations, attendance, corrective action notices and all training records.

Assist in the development and implementation of initial and on-going quality training programs in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations and guidelines.

Evaluate employees and conduct performance appraisals at mid-season and end of the season for all lift operations staff. Assist in annual budget and departmental business planning and in the planning of long and short term goals and objectives.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

2+ year in managing or supervising employees. Previous Ski Area/Lift Operations experence prefered.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

*Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry 50 yards.

*Must be able to work in a standing position for up to (8) hours.

*Must be able to work outside in temperatures below 32 degrees for up to (8) hours.

*Must have at least intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability.
