Maxor National Pharmacy Services, LLC Pharmacy Technician- Specialty - Level Care Pharmacy in Las Vegas, Nevada

Exciting growth at Maxor has created new opportunities for experienced, customer-focused Pharmacy Technicians to join our new specialty pharmacy in Las Vegas, NV. Under the guidance of the Staff Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Tech will fill orders for unit doses, pre-package pharmaceutical, intravenous doses DEA controlled substances, supplemental medications, emergency kits, and general stock requisitions. Performs various related pharmacy duties including quality management activities.

  • Assist pharmacists by providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.

  • Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.

  • Enter patient data accurately.

  • Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.

  • Operate the cash register and ring sales.

  • Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.

  • Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.

  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.

  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records.

  • Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking, pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.

  • Remove, pick up, and/or deliver drug orders if necessary.

  • Inform patients of any notations on prescription bag.

  • Inform the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications, interactions, and allergies.

  • Enter and maintain non-preferred drug requests in the PA system.

  • Verify NDC number to pull and count medications form shelves.

  • Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.

  • Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.

  • Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.

  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.

  • Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.

  • Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.

  • Comply with Maxor’s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor’s Compliance Program.

  • Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.

  • Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.

  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

  • Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Maintain all required licenses and registration.


  • Current PTCB and State of NV Pharmacy Technician license

  • HS Diploma/GED required


  • A minimum of 2 years of prior pharmacy tech experience in a specialty pharmacy setting preferred

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people, including patients and physicians
