OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for working with business users to define and develop solutions for the company using advanced technological tools. Assists and collaborates in the design and deployment of strategic initiatives that provide the company with the use of updated technology by defining and implementing solutions according to these strategic initiatives. Provides technical assistance to departments

having existing solutions and works with those wanting to create new ones.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops requirements and provides a gap analysis on functions in commercially available software in relation to business unit

  • requirements.

  • Designs and deploys software solutions based upon HCP’s

  • design and architecture guidelines.

  • Develops interfaces or software solutions which implement

  • strategic objectives or advance the access, synchronization or presentation of data between systems and users.

  • Performs and assists independently in software coding, testing, debugging, documentation and installation of solutions which may have database connectivity through Microsoft SQL servers and/or Oracle servers.

  • Maintains existing solutions and develops new platforms or

  • procedures to solve complications that may arise in the future.

  • Develops solutions to streamline business processes to achieve departmental and company-wide goals more effectively and

  • efficiently.

  • Participates in vendor proposals, implementations and

  • management by assessing the costs and benefits of vendor

  • products and materials.

  • Communicates status, problems, resolutions, etc. on projects and assignments.

  • Evaluates and recommends new technologies for solution

  • architecture.

  • Contributes skills and knowledge to other database and reporting projects as determined by management.

  • Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’ protected health

  • information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance

  • Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college and/or a professional certification requiring formal education beyond a two-year college in IS, or related field.

  • Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in programming

  • 1+ years working with Cold Fusion

  • 1+ years working with SQL

  • Experience with Visual Studio preferred

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to multitask

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Access, Excel, Word, Project, Visio)

  • Strong Project Management Skills

Knowledge of commonly-used concepts and procedures with the IT/IS field
