As a Senior Account Manager Commercial Lines , your primary responsibility is to serve as the day-to-day expert on a mixed book of commercial, surety, and personal lines business and be the primary point of contact for clients. The Account Manager will assist in preparing and negotiating renewal documents, maintaining client databases, records management, project-specific assignments, and other responsibilities supporting the client. In this position, successful candidates need to maintain a positive attitude and provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing our commercial lines clients. This position is responsible for working with the Producer or Producers in providing timely and professional service to clients. The Senior Account Manager is expected to develop a thorough knowledge of assigned accounts and is expected to meet agency standards for client service, and professionalism. We are looking for someone with Commercial Insurance Experience.


  • Review new and renewal policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc for accuracy and prepare correspondence to insured/and or carrier as needed.

  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Review applications and policies to identify and target new lines of business for existing insured’s, making recommendations on account rounding as appropriate.

  • Assist Producer in coordinating marketing during the quotation process.

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of insurance coverages and exposures and the insurance products and markets available to cover the exposures.

  • Assist clients/policyholders to resolve insurance claim issues in the event of a loss.

  • Perform all duties in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.

  • Review and adhere to processing procedures in order to:

  • Incorporate the capabilities of the system in to the daily workflow

  • Streamline and improve the workflow

  • Follow agency Standards of Excellence and Best Practices procedures for processing and preparation of customer correspondence, certificates of insurance, binders, cancellation requests, insurance ID cards and internal correspondence as requested, ensuring that activities and follow ups are complete.

  • Maintain client files in the agency management systems so that they are up to date and orderly so that the paper/scanned file and data in the agency management system (AMS360) coincide.

  • Perform other duties in support of the team as requested.


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience

  • Minimum 5 year(s) of work experience in Property & Casualty.

  • State specific Casualty & Property insurance license REQUIRED.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy forms, customer contracts, lease agreements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and/or employees, verbally or in written form. Courteous and efficient in phone communications.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience in agency management software system – AMS 360 or other similar system for client and policy file maintenance a plus.
