As a senior project controls professional at Stantec, you will utilize your expertise in cost controls, communications, and problem solving in a fast-paced, professional, design and construction environment to mentor and guide other professionals.
Your Key Responsibilities
Prepare recommendations for action, include trends in the forecast, or develop a mitigation program.
Liaise with project teams to ensure the correct utilization of the project control system based on project specific requirements and corporate guidelines
Take ownership of the planning and cost control function and ensure integrity of the data being processed
Interface with project personnel to develop project forecasts and analyze project schedule and costs
Supervise any supporting roles in the project schedule and cost control area
Supervise and participate in cost risk assessment and schedule risk in PertMaster
Liaise with clients to clarify cost related issues and develop timely and meaningful monthly invoices and for reporting purposes.
Preparation of project invoices in conjunction with the Accounts Department
Implement financial controls including controlling authorizations of expenditure and cash flow projections
Track and coordinate the progress of the project on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the project is on-track by developing and maintaining detailed product schedules
Preparation of budgets in conjunction with client and other team members
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong understanding of all phases of project controls.
Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project control.
Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Advanced understanding of project controls concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
Strong presentation and interview skills.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite .
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business Management or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
