We are actively seeking a Sr. Network Administrator in our Las Vegas, NV or Pleasanton, CA office.

Position Summary

As a Sr. Network Administrator at Rimini Street, your responsibility is to provide network and VoIP support for the region predominantly focused on our growing business. This is a hands-on technical position requiring knowledge of IP networks, LAN/WAN technologies, network security technologies, firewall / switch management, and VoIP administration.

You will be supporting network / VoIP infrastructure systems throughout Rimini’s Global offices, co-locations, and remote end users. You will ensure reliability and sustainability of all network / VoIP infrastructures as well as compliance with internal security policies. Success in this role means you can support mixed network operating systems, telecom technologies, and work efficiently with our internal support engineers and other operations groups.

Rimini Street engineers rely on our mission critical support systems, so you'll have a direct impact in keeping the business productive. You must be self-motivated, with the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, and you must take pride in your work. You will also maintain active participation in firewall & other security operations of other IT infrastructure components such as servers, desktops, networking devices, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, plans, and implements the overall strategic goals of the network and telecom systems

  • Oversees troubleshooting of network and telecom systems and recommends improvements to relevant systems

  • Must have sound knowledge of Mitel or similar VoIP phone systems

  • Excellent understanding of current networking systems including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, data circuits, wireless networking, etc.

  • Ability to provide technical support to co-workers, clients, and other vendors

  • Ability to remotely diagnose and resolve issues related to add/move/changes on VoIP systems as well as network related issues with help of engineers

  • Maintain the security of the IT infrastructure against viruses, spyware and malware attacks through PEN test remediations

  • Knowledge of enterprise AV / proxy client platforms (Cisco Umbrella, Bluecoat, etc.)

  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot networking systems with Solarwinds and Nagios

  • Knowledge of Visio diagramming & network documentation

  • Demonstrate a logical and methodical approach to problem solving

  • CCNA/CCNP, Juniper, Palo Alto firewall certifications are a plus

  • Rotational on-call support may be required

Education

  • Bachelor and/or Masters in Computer Science or related field

  • Network / VoIP Certifications

Experience

  • Experience with standard network administration / VoIP tasks including switch, firewall, and wireless access point management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and a focus on doing things the right way, every time

  • A strong commitment to following and improving processes and procedures

  • A dedication to producing to useful and detailed documentation

  • Self-motivated and able to manage self-imposed deadlines / responsibilities

  • Strong team player who excels in a collaborative environment

  • Demonstrated skills in planning and successfully executing complex IT projects

Skills

  • Palo Alto Networks firewall administration

  • Meraki Switch & Access Point administration

  • VoIP (Mitel, Cisco, Lucent, Panasonic, etc.) administration

Desired Qualifications

  • Must have experience building networks and monitoring solutions on Palo Alto firewalls

  • 7-10 + Years with network switching, wireless, routing, firewalls, and VoIP administration

  • Solid understanding of VoIP and network operating systems including Meraki, Juniper Pulse, with emphasis on Palo Alto Networks and Mitel
