Senior Systems Administrator- FULL TIME – Las Vegas, NV- Corporate

Position Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator contributes to Smart City Network’s success by providing technical leadership by maintaining systems and networks in a fast-paced corporate environment. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for communicating with the Service Desk and assisting with incidents and must be able to manage time effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft computing environments, including a thorough understanding of client/server environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate moderate troubleshooting skills and will be able to determine whether an issue resides on the server, network, peripheral, or workstation and troubleshoot accordingly.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Administer, install, maintain, and establish connectivity for all internal management systems for company and security for company management systems. Maintain and monitor connectivity of servers, software, security issues and backup for all desktop company PC environments. This includes all company office sites and proprietary or vendor acquired software systems

  • Responsible for managing the physical environment where the IT infrastructure is located, i.e. power and cooling, building access management, and environmental monitoring

  • Responsible for managing the lifecycle of all ticketed problems

  • Proactively prevent incidents from happening, and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented

  • Maintain information about known errors and workarounds

  • Responsible for maintaining the Process Architecture (part of the Enterprise Architecture), coordinating all changes to processes, and making sure that all processes cooperate in a seamless manner

  • When necessary serve as an escalation point of contact for the managed process areas

  • Vendor management and tracking operational performance

  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze service metrics to facilitate decision making related to service improvements

  • Job scheduling

  • Ensure that backups are functional and restores are valid

  • Undertake small to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the Director Of Engineering

  • Required to participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation in support of IT incident and problem management

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)

Required Experience

  • Microsoft, VMware Certifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as systems admin

  • Prior experience working in a Corporate IT team environment

  • In-depth Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS Server 2012/2016

  • In-depth understanding of Office 365

  • In- depth Active Directory administration experience

  • Moderate LAN/WAN Troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with reading reports from Enterprise Monitoring Systems

  • Ability to predict environmental and capacity trends of systems and networks with accuracy

  • Demonstrated experience with common server administration tasks for an enterprise-level organization, including system installation, system upgrades and updates, software management, troubleshooting hardware and software issues

Preferred Experience

  • Windows Domain 2003/2008 experience

  • SolarWinds or similar Monitoring Console

  • ITIL V3 Foundations Certificate or greater
