We are seeking a talented individual for a Clinical Performance Analyst I who is responsible for performing claim selections and planning and conducting analysis of healthcare data and in support of the HMS Mission, Vision, Key Quality Strategies, and Values.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform claim selection process

  • Set up process for monitoring, tracking and trending information and data using various systems or applications.

  • Prepare well-organized, easily understood reports, analysis, and summary of findings for use by management.

  • Assist in preparation of regularly produced reports to support decision-making.

  • Research and analyze report results identifying opportunities and trends.

  • Support management and other team members as requested on all things data related.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with SQL programming to both read and write complex SQL queries

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

  • Experience with Data analysis software: SAS, R, Python, etc. preferred

  • Experience with Data Visualization/Reporting tool like Tableau preferred

  • Ability to tell the story behind the numbers.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to in a self-guided manner and in an interdisciplinary team environment effectively.

  • Ability to use interpersonal skills with customer-service orientation.

  • Ability to be careful, thorough and detail oriented.

  • Ability to function under pressure and meet deadline oriented project demands as well as manage multiple initiatives.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Ability to organize well.

  • Ability to work independently to meet objectives.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange information

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data

  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals

  • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs

  • May be required to travel at least 5% of time based on business needs

Minimum Education:

  • MS/BS in Mathematics, Statistics or related field and/or equivalent experience
