With minimal direction, promote the sales of architectural coatings that are suitable for the apartment, association/community management, property management, and commercial property markets in an assigned district. The primary determinants of success in this role are the achievement of (1) increases in units painted against defined, periodic goals and (2) incremental increases in revenue for categories including apartments, apartment painters, property management painters, andcommercial properties.
Essential Job Functions
Develop leads for prospective repaint projects for the HOA industry, commercial property management, and apartment management companies in the district.
Develop business based on market and industry demands that will provide Kelly-Moore the opportunity to increase product market share within the apartment, commercial and HOA management segment.
Work closely with property management companies, boards of directors, HOA committees, apartment owners, and entities that manage commercial properties to provide repaint specifications, coordinate repaint projects, conduct bid-walks with contractors, and assist in facilitating color changes for clients, including color boards/books and computer renderings prepared by the Color Studio.
Collaborate with sales representatives and district sales managers to generate project leads and account leads.
Develop and deliver effective sales presentations to promote the use of Kelly-Moore’s architectural products to prospective and existing customers.
Regularly and visibly participate in all company meetings, functions and trainings as required.
Participate in relevant professional organizations, associations, trade shows and conventions.
Must be able to meet the vehicle requirements for the position.
Ability to use a computer.
Ability to communicate in English. Fluency in at least one other language is preferred.
Ability to prepare and organize numeric and non-numeric records and data in digital and print formats, including spec sheets, contracts, activity reports, and expense reports.
Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and flex with the circumstances.
Ability to manage time and be productive.
At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in the paint and/or coatings industry. Business, marketing, or technical degree strongly preferred.
Active participation in industry organizations such as National Association of Residential Property Managers, Institute of Real Estate Management, CAI, CACM, ECHO, BOMA, AHMA, and CAA.
Excellent communication skills, including oral and written comprehension and expression, and superior listening skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for providing customer service, including assessing the customer’s needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
Demonstrated ability to influence others to change their mind or behavior or make a decision.
