Redhorse has an immediate opening in our Reno, NV office. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our environmental practice in support of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects. We are currently seeking a Junior/Mid Environmental Planner/Biologist to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with senior Redhorse staff, on multifaceted NEPA/Natural Resources Management projects.
As an Environmental Planner/Biologist, you will provide environmental permitting and natural assistance to a variety of projects. Many projects focus on water resources, energy, and Department of Defense natural and cultural resources management.
The desired candidate will have a basic/good understanding of NEPA (and/or California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as needed) and environmental and land use planning to help with Federal, State and local projects including environmental impact analysis support.
Minimum Basic Requirement for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science or a related undergraduate degree
3 - 5 years of related experience
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe)
Must have strong oral/written communication
Proven organization and project management skills
Critical thinking and decision-making skills coupled with strong analysis and problem-solving skills
Must be a self-starter, driven and able to work with limited direction under target time lines
Must have a collaborative personality and able to work effectively in a team-orientated environment
Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced and sometimes unstructured environment
Must have the ability to translate complex ideas into processes and tactical plans
Ability to motivate and discipline as necessary
Facilitate open communication
The work environment for this position requires an individual to be able to:
Must possess a valid state issued Driver’s License to operate vehicle as needed to complete work assignments
May be required to operate government-owned or leased vehicles
Field surverys may be required to be conducted in extreme climatic conditions and rapidly changing temperatures
Must be able walk over long distances and across of variety of terrains, including uneven surfaces
Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle, key, grasp or feel
Must be able to adjust to repetitive motion, reaching with hands and arms
Must be able to jump, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Weekend work may be required to support assigned projects, however no overtime (OT) will be provided, hours will be kept to 40 per week
