Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Job Duties of the Medical Laboratory Scientist
Provide technical training to staff and students
Serve as a preceptor/mentor for new employees in the lab
Assure CAP readiness and assist with accreditation process
Organize and facilitate with HIS and LIS downtime procedures including auto-faxing and password reset
Facilitate with all Codes, especially Code Triage and communicates issues to all lab departments
Participate in Laboratory committees and Transformational Health Care Opportunities.
Facilitate with Sick Call coverage
Initiate equipment service calls and can escalate appropriately
Requirements of the Medical Laboratory Scientist
Three years of experience as a nationally certified Medical Laboratory Scientist
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP) preferred
Current State of Nevada Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
