Job Description:

Arrow Electronics is seeking a Sr. Manager to organize, plan, and lead a large team of both exempt and nonexempt associates for our Reno sites. This position is part of the senior leadership team in the building and will share responsibility for the overall success of the business and influence the culture. Collaboration with outside groups such as sales, engineering, IT, HR, and quality to ensure the overall business is effectively managed and various needs are met relative to goals, people, and the business objectives. As a senior leader, you will be responsible to effectively communicate any issues that impact the business or associates to appropriate members of leadership. Provide solutions, solve problems, and remove roadblocks to ensure the operation is effective and sustainable. Coaching and mentorship is critical as well as creating and establishing a clear succession plan for the key leaders on team, including this position. This position will include daily walks on the production floor and interaction with all levels of the team. Ensure company guidelines and policies are enforced as well as maintaining a safe work environment for all. This position will report directly to the Site Director will have responsibility for managing a team of 250+ FTEs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manages the picking and shipping facility departments, including all supervisory headcount

  • Oversees all department and overall team performance and training, providing prompt coaching or taking corrective action when necessary

  • Analyzes and implements process improvements by using CPI, Six Sigma and Lean

  • Fosters meaningful relationships with direct reports, and ensures that direct reports do the same with their teams

  • Makes key staffing decisions based on forecasting and trends, partners with other building leaders daily to balance facility labor

  • Accountable for the budget, performance and results of a medium-sized team or multiple small teams

  • Works with Outbound Associate Managers to set daily/weekly/monthly/yearly department goals

  • Collaborates with human resources, engineering, and IT to fulfill project system enhancement and quality enhancements

  • Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination and other personnel actions

  • Leads, recommends, and assigns department improvement initiatives

  • Manages day-to-day departmental operations, may be asked to help oversee other departments in facility

  • Ensures that departmental goals are met, including safety, service level, turnover, cost, productivity, quality, 5S, and others

  • Responsibility for maintaining integrity in the use of company assets such as inventory, supplies, equipment and receivables

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working with Lean Sigma and 5S concept

  • 10 years of warehouse operations and building management experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with large teams

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills

  • Firm understanding of root cause analysis and data-driven decision making

  • Project management/process improvement experience

  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written/oral communication

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, exposure to MS Access)

  • Knowledge of Outbound processes

  • Experience managing leaders of staff
