IT Asset Coordinator
Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is collaborating with Tesla Motors, Inc. in a large-scale advanced battery manufacturing facility known as the Gigafactory near Reno, Nevada which is known for its quality of life and expansive outdoor adventures. Panasonic manufactures and supplies cylindrical lithium-ion cells for the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla Motors, Inc. Based on the battery demand from Tesla, the Gigafactory plans to produce cells which will double the world’s current production.

Primary Role and Responsibilities
Asset Management and Inventory – 50%
Responsible for all aspects of inventory preparation of supplies and the physical counting of inventory.
Responsible for generating reports from database information.
Manages IT hardware warranty program, including RMA’s.
Updates asset database to tombstone historical data for retirement of items being decommissioned.
Retires IT equipment to be delivered to the authorized E-waste disposal company.
IT Procurement – 35%
Generates IT hardware and software requisitions.
Accurately enters IT hardware and software into asset database.
Maintains adequate levels of stock in accordance with budget and information security policies.
Prioritizes and coordinates helpdesk orders and deliveries.
Works with vendors to ensure best pricing practices.
Distributes received IT equipment to technicians and project managers.
Responsible for following policies and procedures as approved for purchasing IT hardware and software.
Compliance – 15%
Insure compliance to all Panasonic policy and procedures including but not limited to SOX compliance.
Exercises good judgement by involving management in resolving customer issues as necessary.
Escalates unresolved customer issues in a timely manner.
Report to management team status of environment on a regular basis.
Education and Experience
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Requires Bachelors in Business Administration or equivalent in Computer Science. Requires knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and database development. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Minimum 2 years experience in the computer field preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience working with databases and/or data resource management. A minimum of 5 years experience in procurement. Working knowledge of Access or other databases required.
Working knowledge of Help Desk / Customer Support center operations.
Excellent customer service skills which you will use to establish working relationships and to provide superior support to all levels within the organization.
Good communications (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain/ present technical information; effectively train/advise users on information technology issues.
