Sierra Nevada Corporation Software Engineer II in Sparks, Nevada

Sierra Nevada Corporation's Information and Sensor Solutions (ISS) Business Area provides integrated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Information Operations (IO) sensor system solutions for national security customers.We are seeking a talented Software Engineer with experience in designing and developing C3 applications for RF Sensor systems used for ELINT and ESM applications. The position is available in our Sparks, NV facility.

As a Software Engineer, you will:

*Work directly with the lead system engineer to design, implement, integrate and test.

*Collaborate with other engineers to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software.

*Determine operational performance requirements of the overall system.

*Develop and implement test procedures and documentation.

*Troubleshoot designs operating within an existing integrated system.

*Interact with customers to develop system requirements and design user interfaces.

Required Qualifications:

*BS or MS degree in a related field

*2+ years exp as a Software Engineer

*Knowledge of Java and automated unit/integration testing

*C language experience

Exp in graphical user interface development

*Linux OS experience (as user and application developer)

*Experience optimizing code for specific hardware characteristics

*Occasional travel will be required to various facilities to assist with ground/flight system testing, to attend Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) with the customers and co-contractors, and collaborate with other SNC personnel.


*Shell scripting experience (POSIX and BASH)

*Relational Database Design and SQL experience

*Experience using and configuring Maven build tool

*Experience with version control and bug tracking tools

*Experience in developing mission system software

*RF system and Digital Signal Processing knowledge


*This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
